The heart behind the work
“We notice people. We notice need. And we do something about it.”

We believe transformed lives can transform families and communities.

Project Grateful Hearts exists to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ through random acts of kindness that meet practical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We provide humanitarian relief, restoration, youth mentorship, education, housing support, and compassionate outreach.

Our goal is not simply to provide temporary assistance. We walk alongside people toward healing, dignity, purpose, and hope—serving regardless of background, nationality, or circumstance.

SeePay attention to the person and the need in front of us.
StayBuild relationships that continue after the immediate crisis.

Love expressed through action

When the headlines fade, we keep showing up.

Every need is personal. Every response is practical. And every gift helps Project Grateful Hearts say “yes” when an opportunity to serve appears.

Everyday Kindness

Flexible help for the need that does not fit a program—food, school shoes, shelter, encouragement, or simply showing up.

Rooted in relationship. Committed to restoration.

After the storm passes and the world moves on, families are still rebuilding. We stay close, listen first, and work alongside local leaders to help communities move from relief toward lasting hope.

How it began

A simple yes became a mission.

In 2017, founder Kathrine “Kat” Weir felt called to become one of the workers Jesus spoke about: someone willing to go, serve, and respond.

Kat and her husband began by helping people move, preparing meals, and serving wherever they could. That service expanded to Jamaica and deepened after Hurricane Melissa, when food distribution revealed needs that could not be solved in a single visit.

Families needed rebuilding. Children needed mentorship. Communities needed support after larger relief organizations had departed. Project Grateful Hearts became a home for that ongoing work.

At the center of it all: faith demonstrated through service, compassion made practical, and the conviction that no person should feel forgotten.
